Two Kaiser Permanente units scored the partial dismissal of a lawsuit alleging they failed to pay workers everything they’re owed under California law for time they staffed health-care facilities during a labor dispute.
The fill-in workers didn’t show they had a contract with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Permanente Medical Group Inc., whose facilities they worked at through a third-party staffing firm, the US District Court for the Southern District of California said. They also lack standing to pursue claims for improper wage statements and untimely payments of wages due at termination, the Monday order said.
