Kaiser to Pay $150,000 to Settle California Attorney General Breach Notification Lawsuit

Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. has agreed to pay $150,000 to settle a lawsuit filed Jan. 24 by California Attorney General Kamala Harris (D) over its three-month delay in telling employees that a hard drive containing more than 20,000 workers’ personal information was sold in a thrift store (People v. Kaiser Found. Health Plan, Inc., Cal. Super. Ct., No.).

The proposed final judgment and permanent injunction, which still is subject to approval by the Alameda County Superior Court, also would permanently enjoin Kaiser from failing to timely notify current and former Kaiser employees who are residents of ...
