Justices Reject Uber Drivers’ Bid to Avoid Arbitrating Wage Case

The US Supreme Court turned away a case seeking to determine if Uber Technologies Inc. drivers who primarily work within a single state can avoid arbitrating a wage dispute under a federal exemption for transportation workers engaged in interstate commerce.

The justices declined Monday to examine a US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit ruling that tossed their claims from court. The appeals court found that the drivers didn’t qualify for a Federal Arbitration Act carveout that would exempt them from mandatory arbitration agreements they signed.
