Justices Decline Former Pilot’s Whistleblower Retaliation Suit

A former Asia Pacific Airlines pilot lost his bid for the US Supreme Court to review his allegations that he was illegally fired after reporting that the company hired and promoted unqualified pilots as captains and falsified work hours to reduce labor costs in violation of federal safety rules.

The justices’ decision Monday not to take up Darren Kossen’s whistleblower complaint leaves in place a US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit order rejecting claims that APA violated the Wendell H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century.
