Judge Denies Workday’s Bid to Narrow AI-Powered Age Bias Claims

Litigation alleging AI-powered age discrimination by Workday Inc.’s job candidate screening tools won’t be narrowed for now to exclude workers who applied through part of its technology platform that was acquired after the suit was filed, a federal judge ruled.

Workday had argued people applying to job postings that used its HiredScore screening tools shouldn’t be eligible to join the case’s age-bias claims, partly because the acquisition happened in 2024, after the lawsuit was filed in February 2023.
