Judge Denies Immigrants’ Request to Reopen DHS Parole Programs

A Boston district court judge denied a request to order the reopening of admissions into the US through humanitarian parole programs that were closed by the Trump administration to new applicants.

A group of immigrants is challenging the Department of Homeland Security over the dismantling of a slate of humanitarian parole pathways. The agency suspended new entries earlier this year through parole programs for Ukraine, Afghanistan, as well as Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
