Judge Blocks Law on Bikini Baristas Covering Up at Work

Baristas who serve coffee to drive-through customers while wearing bikinis won an early victory in their lawsuit challenging a pair of Everett, Wash., ordinances that require them to cover up.

Judge Marsha J. Pechman of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington Dec. 4 granted their request to keep it on hold while the case is litigated. The law requires that certain body parts, including the chest, “buttocks, top three inches of legs below the buttocks, pubic area and genitals” remain covered at all times.
