JPMorgan Chase Banker’s Firing Wasn’t Age Bias

A former personal banker at JP Morgan Chase Bank NA can’t proceed with his claim that his firing at age 52 for violating a company policy against participating in a sports ticket giveaway was age discrimination, a federal judge in New York ruled Aug. 28 (Messinger v. JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A., 2015 BL 280298, S.D.N.Y., 1:13-cv-02444, 8/28/15).

JP Morgan Chase said it terminated Benjamin Messinger for violating a policy against employees participating in an annual marketing promotion that gave away sports tickets.
