The highest-ranking Democrats on the House and Senate labor committees want the labor board to provide more justification before moving forward with a proposal to limit the situations in which one business is liable as a joint employer of another’s workers.
The lawmakers also asked the agency to extend the period for submitting comments on the proposal and to schedule public hearings. They made the request in a Oct. 10 letter to National Labor Relations Board Chairman John Ring (R).
