Job Seekers Reach Settlement in Offensive Medical Question Case

California job applicants who say an occupational health screener pressed them to answer offensive and irrelevant medical questions before beginning work for employers reached a deal to resolve their claims.

The settlement calls for U.S. Healthworks Medical Group and the other defendants to pay $1 in nominal damages for each of the more than 172,000 class members, with the money going to charity, the job seekers told the US District Court for the Southern District of California. The defendants also agreed not to use this particular questionnaire in the future, according to the settlement filings.
