Jackson National Ex-Employee’s Sex Discrimination Claims Revived

A Black, female former Jackson National Life Insurance Co. employee will be able to pursue her retaliation, hostile work environment, and constructive discharge claims against the insurance company in federal court, the Tenth Circuit ruled Tuesday.

The court reversed the dismissal of La’Tonya Ford’s retaliation claim because an internal email demonstrated that Jackson Vice President James Bossert didn’t want to promote her because he believed Ford would leverage the position to further her EEOC complaint.
