The IRS is extending deadlines for 401(k), 403(b), and other retirement plans to update their documents and align with the provisions of the SECURE Act, the SECURE 2.0 Act, the CARES Act, and the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act.
The deadlines to amend those plans in accordance with the various pieces of legislation were extended to at least the end of 2026, and in several cases beyond that date, the notice released Thursday said (2024-02).
