Partnership tax compliance and implementation of the 2019 IRS reform law, the Taxpayer First Act, are among priorities the IRS will likely focus on once it completes all guidance on the 2017 tax law, a top official said.
“There is a pent-up demand here within Counsel for other projects that folks would like to be working on,” IRS Chief Counsel Michael Desmond said Monday during a Tax Executives Institute event. The transition probably will happen after the end of this year, when the agency expects to wrap up the tax law guidance.
