Indiana Food Distributor Faces Allegations of Sex Discrimination

Kenneth O. Lester Co., Inc., is accused of discriminating against female job applicants based on their sex at its warehouse in Kendallville, Ind., the EEOC said Tuesday.

The food distributor, doing business as PFG Customized Distribution–Indiana, allegedly didn’t hire female job applicants for order-selector positions and expressly stated sex-based criteria for the role, which violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the agency said.

The EEOC also alleged that the company assigned female employees to the small-wares section of the warehouse, which would give them less earning potential.
