Immigration Lawyers Settle Case Over Access to H-1B Information

A recent settlement in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit could shed light on how the Trump administration has been approaching H-1B visas.

The American Immigration Lawyers Association and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Sept. 12 jointly told a federal judge in Washington that they’re dismissing a lawsuit seeking to force a response to the association’s FOIA request after settling out of court.

The 15,000-member association filed the case in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in June 2018 to get the USCIS to release documents related to its consideration of H-1B specialty occupation visa petitions. The ...
