Immigration Judges Get Full Federal Circuit Review of DOJ Firing

A federal appeals court granted en banc review for two immigration judges challenging their firing by the Trump administration.

Megan Jackler and Brandon Jaroch are appealing a Merit Systems Protection Board decision backing their termination by the Department of Justice. The March 20 decision by the MSPB, which reviews federal workers’ wrongful discharge claims, affirmed Trump officials’ arguments that the attorney general can fire immigration judges and other “inferior officers” without restriction.
