A Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipient who challenged the government’s revocation of his work permit scored a win in federal court when a judge ordered his DACA permit restored and prevented the government from arguing that he’s affiliated with a gang.
The May 15 decision came the same day that a federal appeals court in California heard arguments in a case challenging the Trump administration’s September decision to end DACA altogether. The deportation protection program has been kept alive by a series of lower federal court orders.
