Illinois is poised to require businesses to include salary ranges in job ads under legislation headed to Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) for his signature, following similar pay transparency measures passed last year in California and New York.
The bill (HB 3129) that cleared the state legislature on Wednesday would mandate that Illinois employers include a pay range and general description of benefits for job listings. The requirements would take effect Jan. 1, 2025, and would apply to businesses with 15 or more employees.
