IKEA Workers Secure $7.5 Million Deal in California Breaks Suit

IKEA U.S. Retail LLC will pay $7.5 million to resolve a lawsuit brought by more than 6,400 employees alleging violations of California breaks law, after a court signed off on the deal and certified the class.

Under the deal, class members will split about 75% of the total amount, with each receiving about $850, and class counsel will get roughly $1.9 million in attorneys’ fees and costs. Lead plaintiff Allyza Cahilig will get a $15,000 service award.
