ICE Rule on Civil Immigration Penalties Cleared by White House

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement rule adding new civil monetary penalties cleared White House review.

The regulations (RIN 1653-AA96) would be issued as an interim final rule, allowing it to take effect immediately without a public comment period.

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs approved the rule Friday, the last procedural hurdle before its release in the Federal Register.
