IBM Spinoff Kyndryl Keeps Plot to Fire Older Workers, Suit Says

International Business Machines Corp.‘s managed infrastructure offshoot Kyndryl Holdings Inc. has allegedly continued IBM’s “playbook of age discrimination” by firing a disproportionately high number of older employees in recent layoffs, according to a new collective action lawsuit.

MaryKathryn Doheny’s lawsuit in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York is one of multiple that have been filed since 2018 when ProPublica reported IBM’s efforts to reduce its older workforce, which the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission later confirmed in a determination letter acquired by ProPublica.
