IAM Members Agree to End Pensions To Ensure Boeing Doesn’t Move Jobs Away

Leaders of an International Association of Machinists local in Washington state see the Jan. 3 ratification of a contract that ultimately will end defined benefit pensions for more than 30,000 Boeing Co. workers as a major setback for organized labor.

The contract, which will end in 2024, covers workers in the Puget Sound area.
