The president intends to nominate Gibbs to be the next director of the Office of Personnel Management, the White House said in a statement Monday. Gibbs is now the acting assistant secretary for community planning and development at HUD. In that role, he recently led the successful deployment of more than $9 billion in CARES Act funds in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the White House statement said.
