HUD Official Is Trump’s Pick to Lead Government’s HR Office

John Gibbs, a former conservative pundit who’s now an official with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, is President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the government’s central HR agency.

The president intends to nominate Gibbs to be the next director of the Office of Personnel Management, the White House said in a statement Monday. Gibbs is now the acting assistant secretary for community planning and development at HUD. In that role, he recently led the successful deployment of more than $9 billion in CARES Act funds in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the White House statement said.
