A quality inspector at Howmet Aerospace Inc. sued the company in California state court, seeking to represent a class of current and former employees allegedly denied rest and meal breaks, among other labor violations.
Jose Navarro, who worked for the defense and aerospace manufacturer until 2019, says the company had a practice of failing to pay all wages because bonus payments weren’t included in the calculation of regular or overtime wages.
The bonuses were performance-based and non-discretionary and were therefore considered wages under state law, according to the Thursday complaint.
