House Workforce Ranking Member Scott Accused of Harassment

A former Hill staffer Dec. 15 accused House Workforce committee ranking member Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.) of sexual harassment. The Virginia Democrat has denied the allegations.

M. Reese Everson, at a news conference, accused Scott of improper touching and sexual advances when she served in his office in 2013 as part of a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation fellowship. She claimed that she abruptly left the fellowship and was “improperly terminated.”

“I was blackballed,” she said.
