Top Republican members on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce are probing the Seafarers International Union over allegations that leadership mishandled funds from its political action committees.
Committee Chair Rep. Tim Walberg (Mich.) and Rep. Rick Allen (Ga.), head of the labor subcommittee, asked SIU President David Heindel in a letter shared with Bloomberg Law Monday to identify which individuals were involved in the alleged incident and to disclose the total amount of funds that were misappropriated.
