House Democrats Seek Answers on DOL Layoffs, Office Closures

House Democrats want the Government Accountability Office to probe federal worker layoffs and buyouts at the US Department of Labor.

House Education and the Workforce Committee Ranking Member Bobby Scott (D-Va.) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) asked the GAO to provide them information on how many DOL employees were laid off through reductions-in-force or took buyout or early retirement options to leave the federal workforce in a letter Wednesday.
