House Approves With Bipartisan Support Federal Employees’ Compensation Act Fixes

The House Nov. 29 approved legislation (H.R. 2465) by voice vote that would update the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act to allow treatment and certification by physicians’ assistants and nurse practitioners, clarify that injuries caused by terrorist attacks are covered by FECA, streamline the claims process for injuries incurred in war zones, and strengthen the Labor Department’s ability to guard against fraud and abuse.
