‘Hot Mic Moment’ Helps Get Fired UN School Worker Job Bias Trial

The United Nations International School may have fired its director of purchasing because he took medical leave and sought accommodation for his hypertension and other disabilities, not because he lied about skipping an assembly, a Manhattan federal judge ruled.

Disparaging comments the school’s human resources director made after a meeting with Joseph Fasanello, which another employee recorded without telling anyone, could cause a jury to reject the stated reason for Fasanello’s discharge, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
