Honeywell DEI Training Fight Tests Civil Rights Law at 7th Cir.

The Seventh Circuit will be the latest federal appeals court to tackle the interplay between mandatory diversity, equity, and inclusion training and a workplace civil rights law, as it hears a case of a White worker who says he was fired after opposing the requirement at Honeywell International Inc.

Counsel for former Honeywell engineer Charles Vavra will urge the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on Tuesday to vacate a lower court’s summary judgment ruling that there’s no evidence that the unconscious bias awareness training was “inherently racist” or that his termination was influenced by bias.
