Home Depot, Workers Win First Nod for Over $3 Million Wage Deal

Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. and workers who say it owes them overtime pay for overnight shifts secured a federal judge’s initial approval for their more than $3.3 million settlement.

The deal comes after nearly 15 years of litigation and, after deducting fees and costs, recovers 30% of the maximum damages the workers could have achieved at trial, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said. The settlement covers approximately 38,500 workers who will receive an average gross payment of $33.20, the order filed Monday said.
