Actors Strike Ends After 118 Days as Studios, Union Reach Deal

A historic 118-day strike that halted television production, delayed movie releases and shut down much of the entertainment industry has ended after Hollywood studios and the union representing some 160,000 actors reached an agreement on a new three-year contract.

The SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Committee approved the tentative deal in a unanimous vote, according to a statement Wednesday from the union. The strike, which began in July, ended at 12:01 a.m. in Los Angeles on Thursday.
