Hoffa Re-Elected Teamsters President; Some Opposing VPs Win

International Brotherhood of Teamsters President James P. Hoffa won re-election to the union’s top post.

Hoffa received 100,893 votes in the mail-in balloting, according to unofficial results posted late Nov. 18 on the website of the Office of the Election Supervisor for the union. Fred Zuckerman, leader of an IBT local in Louisville, Ky., who challenged him, won 95,032 votes. Hoffa has been president of the Teamsters since 1999 and his re-election was widely expected.
