Hochul Signs Bill Targeting Amazon Warehouse Worker Injuries

New York will require more efforts to prevent musculoskeletal injuries among warehouse workers at Amazon.com Inc. and other large employers under legislation Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) signed into law.

The measure (S5081 / A8907) approved by the governor Saturday is the state’s second attempt at improving warehouse safety, expanding on a 2022 law that restricted the way warehouse employers use work-speed and productivity quotas—often monitored by electronic systems that critics call “robot bosses.”
