Hoboken, NJ, Enacts Paid Family Leave for City Employees

New parents working for the city of Hoboken, N.J., will now have a little easier time making ends meet. Mayor Ravinder S. Bhalla (D) signed an executive order that would supplement the salary of full-time city employees who take time off after having a child.

The plan involves the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s Family Leave Insurance, which supplements a worker’s salary while he or she bonds with a newborn or newly adopted child.
