Hispanic Nursing Assistants Settle Suit Over English-Only Policy

A Scranton, Pa., long-term skilled nursing care facility and five Hispanic nursing assistants settled, on the eve of trial, the workers’ suit alleging they were unlawfully barred from speaking Spanish at work, Pennsylvania federal court records.

The US District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania entered an order Thursday dismissing the Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and Pennsylvania Human Relations Act case against Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center LLC.
