The US Supreme Court has declined to stay an appeals panel order that questioned the authority of a federal civil service board.
The high court held Friday that the Trump administration failed to prove it would suffer irreparable harm from the order issued by the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. The appeals panel in June ordered a lower court to reevaluate whether it has jurisdiction over administrative claims brought by the union representing federal immigration judges, suggesting that it does because of leadership shakeups at the Merit Systems Protection Board.
