High Court Declines to Hear Dealership’s Protected Speech Case

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a Chicago-area car dealership’s challenge to a ruling that it unlawfully threatened a mechanic by saying there would be negative consequences for unionized workers if they went on strike.

The justices on Monday let stand a decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that a Cadillac of Naperville Inc. manager’s statement that “things would not be the same” if workers went on strike violated federal labor law.
