Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Fired IT Worker Settle Age Bias Suit

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. settled a 53-year-old human resources department IT developer’s claims that his termination in a workforce reduction really was age bias, Texas federal court records show.

Carlos Gonzalez said HPE hired a number of younger, less experienced workers around the same time as the alleged downsizing.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas said his evidence could both prove prima facie age discrimination under the Texas Commission of Human Rights Act law and that the stated reason for Gonzalez’s discharge was pretextual.
