An Iranian national residing in the US who was found guilty of violating the trade embargo on Iran on Friday lost an appeal to undo those convictions.
The government doesn’t have to prove that a defendant was aware of the specific regulation allegedly violated to prove a violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said in the unpublished decision.
