Heartfelt Home Healthcare Services Inc., based in Erie, Pa., faces a pregnancy and disability discrimination lawsuit, according to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Thursday.
Though a pregnant employee with hypertension was not medically restricted from working, she was allegedly repeatedly told she was a liability and then later fired from her job because of her conditions, said the agency.
This alleged conduct would violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as well as Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act, EEOC said.
The case is (EEOC v. Heartfelt Home Healthcare Services, Inc., W.D. Pa., No. 1:22-cv-00280-CB, 9/29/22
