Health Care Service Corporation Settles Employee Overtime Claims

Health Care Service Corp. has agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to nearly 600 employees across the country who brought overtime claims under federal and state laws.

Judge Kenneth J. Gonzales of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico Dec. 5 granted preliminary approval of the hybrid settlement, which was filed under seal.

Nora Candelaria and Kimani Singleton brought class and collective actions against HCSC, which operates Blue Cross Blue Shield divisions in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
