Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. allegedly failed to provide workers with proper meal breaks and left some types of pay out when calculating overtime rates, a new suit says.
The health-care organization automatically deducted 30 minutes of pay each day for meal breaks, but HMH required them to remain on duty and interrupted them during the unpaid breaks, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
“Hackensack Meridian Health takes seriously its obligations under state and federal wage-and-hour laws to ensure that its team members are fairly compensated,” the organization told Bloomberg Law ...
