HCL Technologies Accused of Bias Against Non-South Asians (1)

HCL Technologies Ltd. and its American subsidiary are accused in a new lawsuit of systemic discrimination in favor of South Asian workers on the basis of race.

The Indian multinational technology company and HCL America Inc. have achieved the “pervasive, ongoing” pattern or practice of bias in part by exploiting the U.S. government’s H-1B and L-1 visa programs, the March 7 proposed class action said.

The companies apply for more of these types of visas annually than they actually need so they can fill positions in the U.S. with South Asian workers located overseas instead of non-South Asian U.S. workers, ...
