HCA Healthcare Faces EEOC Discrimination, Retaliation Lawsuit

The EEOC has filed a lawsuit against HCA Healthcare Inc. as well as its divisions Tennessee Healthcare Management Inc. and GME Overhead that includes allegations of age, race, and national origin discrimination and retaliation, the agency said Monday.

HCA Healthcare allegedly passed over an Asian-American candidate for a job promotion in favor of a younger, underqualified White candidate, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said. The company then wrote up, berated, and fired the employee who missed out on the promotion after he complained about it, according to the EEOC.
