Hallmark Film Set Illegally Fired Striking Drivers, Judge Rules

Two film production companies violated federal labor law by illegally interrogating employees, threatening to relocate the films’ production, and firing nine workers who went on strike, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.

NLRB Administrative Law Judge Gerald Etchingham said Monday that supervisors for the two films—“Christmas at the Madison” and “Love at the Pecan Farm,” both of which were released by Hallmark in 2021—illegally interrogated several staff members about their union activities.

Etchingham also found that supervisors for “Love on the Pecan Farm” unlawfully threatened to close the business if the drivers voted to unionize.
