The unemployment rate fell in more than half of US states in July, and payrolls increased in nearly every state, data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed Friday. Twenty-six states have seen their unemployment rates fall to record lows at some point this year. Minnesota had the lowest unemployment rate last month at 1.8%, while New Mexico, California and Connecticut were among those that saw the biggest improvement.
