H-1B Worker Sues to Clear Record Connected to Employer’s Fraud

A Bangladeshi national employed in the US on an H-1B visa is suing the Department of Homeland Security for an opportunity to clear his name in connection with fraud committed by a former employer.

The plaintiff, Istiaque Ahmed, hasn’t been notified of a visa denial or revocation by DHS. But if he departs from the US designation as a co-conspirator in government records “will permanently prevent his re-entry unless he receives a waiver,” according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the Northern District of Ohio.
