US Citizenship and Immigration Services is extending the registration period for H-1B specialty occupation visas through noon Eastern Daylight Time March 25, the agency announced.
USCIS will notify those selected for fiscal year 2025 by March 31, the agency said in a Thursday press release. Unlike previous years, the visa lottery this year will be based on unique beneficiaries rather than submissions by employers on their behalf.
The agency made that shift to weed out abuse by some employers it said were attempting to game the lottery process with illegitimate registrations.
