Group of Barbers, Beauticians in California Get $575,000 Settlement in Wage Dispute

A federal judge in California gave final approval Nov. 4 to a $575,000 settlement for about 750 employees at barbershops and salons on military bases, resolving their allegations against Gino Morena Enterprises LLC in a proposed wage-and-hour class action (Greene v. Gino Morena Enters., LLC, S.D. Cal., 3:13-cv-01332, settlement approved 11/4/14).

Judge Jeffrey T. Miller of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California granted the plaintiffs’ unopposed motion for final approval of the $575,000 deal, which includes about $190,000 in attorneys’ fees and $18,000 for litigation costs.
